The Fort Meade Miners will challenge the Santa Fe Catholic Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Fort Meade sitting on four straight wins and Santa Fe Catholic on nine.

Lucas De Amicis tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Fort Meade's victory was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Caleb Hermelbracht, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one triple. That's the most RBI Hermelbracht has posted since back in April of 2024. Zachary Brooks was another, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Santa Fe Catholic gave up the first runs last Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They had just enough and edged out Four Corners 6-5. That's two games straight that the Hawks have won by just one run.
Santa Fe Catholic also got a great performance from Carson Dicks as he didn't allow a single earned run over 4.1 innings pitched.
On the hitting side, Marvin Montenegro was incredible, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Brody Lanier, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.
Santa Fe Catholic's win was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.1 runs over those games. As for Fort Meade, their victory bumped their record up to 9-2.
Thursday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Fort Meade hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .322. However, it's not like Santa Fe Catholic struggles in that department as they've averaged .335. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
