The Desert Hills Thunder won the last time they faced the Springville Red Devils, and things went their way on Friday too. Desert Hills blew past Springville 52-31.
Desert Hills had a senior duo take command as Jenna Brown scored 16 points and Hannah Heaton dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Brown has scored at least 25% of Desert Hills' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashtin Hansen, who scored 10 points along with 5 rebounds.
Springville's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Natalie Florence, who scored 6 points. Another player making a difference was Gwen Fales, who scored 10 points along with 7 rebounds.
The win got Desert Hills back to even at 1-1. As for Springville, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Desert Hills will be playing in front of their home fans against Salem Hills at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Salem Hills focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Friday. Springville will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Snow Canyon at 12:30 p.m. on December 2nd.
