Point Loma took down La Jolla 44-24 last week, the largest margin of any game.
The Pointers made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 3,173 from 3,691. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 44-24 victory over the Vikings last week.
La Jolla's Collin Rugg and Brandon Bonham led Western in both passing and receiving yards. 6-3 quarterback Rugg has thrown for 1,745 yards this season, while Bonham has 27 catches for 579 yards. Madison's Kevin Moore leads the league in rushing yards with 765.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Jason Carter's team takes on Mission Bay. The Vikings are in fourth place, while the Buccaneers are in first place.
Point Loma led the league in scoring this week after putting up 44 points on La Jolla.
