Princeton and the Cougars are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Princeton Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Paradise Adventist Academy Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Princeton knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past ten games -- so hopefully the Cougars like a good challenge.
Even though Princeton has not done well against the Grizzlies recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Princeton came out on top in a nail-biter against the Grizzlies and snuck past 68-66. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Princeton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Junior Andrade led the charge by scoring 22 points along with three steals. Andrade is crushing the point category: he's posted at least 16 every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Corwyn Roberson, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 18 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Paradise Adventist Academy really took it to the Vikings for the full four quarters, racking up a 57-28 win at home. Paradise Adventist Academy pushed the score to 53-19 by the end of the third, a deficit the Vikings cut but never quite recovered from.
Princeton's victory was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.8 points per game. As for Paradise Adventist Academy, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-12.
Princeton took their win against the Cougars in their previous matchup back in January by a conclusive 73-50. With Princeton ahead 47-23 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
