The Fort Collins Lambkins scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They strolled past Broomfield with points to spare, taking the game 90-71. The victory was all the more spectacular given Fort Collins' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 105th, while Broomfield is ranked 35th).
Jayce King was his usual excellent self, scoring 40 points along with five rebounds and two steals. That makes it ten consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Fort Collins' points. Another player making a difference was Marcus Burkett, who scored 13 points along with five assists and three steals.
The victory got Fort Collins back to even at 5-5. As for Broomfield, their loss dropped their record down to 8-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fort Collins will face off against Prairie View at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Prairie View focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 30 on Friday. As for Broomfield, they will head out on the road to take on Fossil Ridge at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Fossil Ridge has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 313 points over their last five games.
