Milwaukee Lutheran has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the South Milwaukee Rockets at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Milwaukee Lutheran knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five games -- so hopefully South Milwaukee likes a good challenge.
Last Thursday, Milwaukee Lutheran blew past Cudahy, posting a 81-39 win at home. Given Milwaukee Lutheran's advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 136th, while Cudahy is ranked 299th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Milwaukee Lutheran's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Markell Causey, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 10 steals, and Isaiah Allen, who scored 23 points along with 7 assists. That makes it five consecutive games in which Allen has scored at least 25% of Milwaukee Lutheran's points. Jamarion Stanton was another key contributor, scoring 8 points along with 4 steals.
Meanwhile, South Milwaukee had to suffer through a rough 83-44 loss at the hands of Pewaukee. South Milwaukee has not had much luck with Pewaukee recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
The losses dropped Milwaukee Lutheran to 3-2 and Cudahy to 0-4.
Milwaukee Lutheran didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against South Milwaukee when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 69-64 win. Will Milwaukee Lutheran repeat their success, or does South Milwaukee have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
