The Wayne Badgers will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Milford Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Friday, Wayne ended up a good deal behind Piute and lost 45-27. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Wayne has scored all season.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from AJ Vandyke, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times she's played. Macey Jackson was another key contributor, scoring five points along with five rebounds.
Wayne struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Milford's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They took a 37-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bryce Valley. The game was a 15-15 toss-up at halftime, but Milford was outscored by Bryce Valley in the second.
Wayne has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-6 record this season. As for Milford, their loss dropped their record down to 7-7.
Wayne took their victory against Milford in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 by a conclusive 56-33. Will Wayne repeat their success, or does Milford have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
