This season hasn't been kind to the General Brown Lions, who are still winless after their sixth game. They suffered a rough 61-41 loss at the hands of Marcellus on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, General Brown can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 607th, while Marcellus is ranked ninth).
Marcellus found their leader in underclassman Tucker Burnett, who scored 15 points. The match was Burnett's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Will Burnett was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.
General Brown has fallen quite a ways from their 18-6 record last season and are now at 0-6. As for Marcellus, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.
General Brown will finish 2023 at home by hosting Massena at 12:30 p.m. on Friday. Marcellus will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Christian Brothers Academy at 8:15 p.m. on Friday.
