The Snow Canyon Warriors were the 73-63 winner over the Pine View Panthers when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Snow Canyon fell just short of Pine View by a score of 61-58. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Despite the loss, Snow Canyon still got an impressive performance from Owen Mackay, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds. Mackay scored a full 34.5% of Snow Canyon's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Iloa, who scored ten points.
Leading Pine View to victory were Griffen Shepherd and Nash Schroeder. Shepherd scored 20 points, while Schroeder dropped a double-double on 29 points and ten rebounds. The contest was Schroeder's 13th in a row with at least ten points.
Snow Canyon's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 7-5. As for Pine View, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 10-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Snow Canyon will take on Cedar at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cedar is hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses. As for Pine View, they will be playing at home against Dixie at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Dixie has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 568 points over their last eight matches.
