It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Red Oak Hawks had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They came out on top against the Sandies by a score of 35-28. Red Oak's win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
Chris Martinez jr was his usual excellent self, rushing for 128 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries, while also throwing for 185 yards and four touchdowns on only 17 passes. Martinez jr was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 53 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Robinson, who picked up 104 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Red Oak's win bumped their record up to 12-0. As for Amarillo, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.
Red Oak will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Aledo at 7:00 p.m. on November 24th. Aledo is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. Amarillo does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
