The Genesee Bulldogs will challenge the Asotin Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Genesee will be strutting in after a win while Asotin will be coming in after a loss.
Genesee barely beat Orofino the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bulldogs were the clear victors by a 16-3 margin over the Maniacs on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won 13 contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Kendra Meyer made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Sophie Johnson was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Sydney Banks, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one double.
Genesee always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .595. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Orofino only posted an OBP of .053.
Meanwhile, Asotin was not able to break out of their rough patch last Tuesday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They lost 10-4 to DeSales.
Kiera Nielson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and eight unearned) runs on eight hits.
Genesee's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-4. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 22.0 runs over those games. As for Asotin, their loss dropped their record down to 1-15.
Asotin's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Genesee has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .551. It's a different story for Asotin, though, as they've only averaged .331.
