Basketball Recap: Brown Deer Extends Winning Streak to Three

Brown Deer extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Ameerah Grant. The Brown Deer Falcons walked away with a 66-58 victory over the Chicago Marshall Commandos on Saturday thanks in part to Grant, who went 21 for 33 on her way to 51 points. The contest was her 11th in a row with at least ten points.

Several Commandos players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Janiyah Green, who went 9 of 16 en route to 24 points. That's the most points Green has posted since back in November of 2024. Charmarre Scott was another key player, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 11 boards.

Brown Deer is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 7-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.8 points per game. As for Chicago Marshall, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 15-5.

Brown Deer will venture away from home to challenge Whitnall at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Whitnall's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven games. Chicago Marshall has already played their next contest, a 49-34 win against Senn on the 22nd.
