Even though the Dinwiddie Generals have not done well against the Huguenot Falcons recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Dinwiddie walked away with a 41-29 win over Huguenot. Given Dinwiddie's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 95th, while Huguenot is ranked 208th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Dinwiddie can attribute much of their success to Carolina Berry, who scored 15 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals. Berry is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Christiana Jones, who scored 8 points along with 11 rebounds.
Dinwiddie now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Huguenot, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Dinwiddie will be playing in front of their home fans against Hopewell at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Huguenot, they will head out on the road to face off against Richmond City School of the Arts at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
