4A Region 2 recap Oct. 30, 2012
Beauregard extended the longest winning streak in 4A Region 2 this week by beating Tallassee, 28-7. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.
Charles Henderson took down Bullock County 61-14 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Beauregard's dynamic duo of David Winslet and Davonte Echols proved tough for the Tigers to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Winslet threw for 87 yards and one touchdown and Echols had 55 yards receiving. Trey Collins helped Beauregard's passing attack out by catching five balls for 22 yards.
Frank Moody was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 199 yards on 27 carries as St. James bested Tallassee. C.J. Duncan also contributed to the rushing game with 60 yards on the ground.
Dylon Hibbard made the biggest impact on defense this week as Alabama Christian Academy fell to the Trojans. The 5-foot-10 senior grabbed one sack.
The Hornets' Winslet and Collins have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Winslet has thrown for 1366 yards this season, while Collins, a 5-foot-9 receiver, has 26 catches for 616 yards. St. James' Moody leads the league in rushing yards with 726.
The Trojans led 4A Region 2 in scoring this week after putting up 61 points on the Hornets.
