EVANS, Ga. -
Evans (Ga.) put up 14 points in the fourth quarter in Saturday's game to seal their 38-9 victory over
Greenbrier (Evans, Ga.).
After taking the lead on a touchdown pass by
Matlin Marshall to
Justin Jackson in the first quarter, the Knights were up 10-0 at the half.
Evans expanded its lead to 15 points entering the fourth quarter. EHS scored two times in the third, including once on a Marshall touchdown pass to
Malik Vandiver.
Marshall was the top performer for the Knights. He threw two touchdowns. He has now scored five touchdowns on the season.
Greenbrier's lone touchdown came on a 29-yard pass from
Allen Walls to
Warren Coombs in the third quarter.
Evans also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 22-21.
The win was a nice bounce back for EHS, which lost to Warner Robins last week, 27-14. The victory snapped Evans' two-game losing streak.
Greenbrier (0-5) goes up against Warner Robins in a AAAAA Region 2 game matchup next week, while Evans (3-2) locks horns with Jones County also in a AAAAA Region 2 game.
