Tug Valley has gone 9-1 against St. Joseph Central recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Panthers will look to defend their home field against the Irish at 6:00 p.m. Tug Valley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.7 runs per game this season.

Bailee Hall put in work while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run, one stolen base, and one double.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last game, St. Joseph Central made sure to put some runs up on the board against Poca on Wednesday. The Irish blew past the Dots 16-5. Considering the Irish's hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
Like Tug Valley, St. Joseph Central also got a great game from a two-way player: Kate Oxley. She struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up five earned runs off six hits. Oxley was even better at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Mady Woelfel and Brooklyn Anderson did most of the damage at the plate: Woelfel got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Anderson got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those three runs gave Woelfel a new career-high. Michelle Yemba was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Tug Valley has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like St. Joseph Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Tug Valley got the 'W' in their previous matchup two weeks ago against St. Joseph Central by a conclusive 13-0 score. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Irish turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
