Rye won the last time they faced Trinidad and things went their way on Saturday too. The Thunderbolts blew past the Miners 41-6.

Rye's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jackson Bjorum, who rushed for 149 yards and two TDs while picking up 9.3 yards per carry. Brady Baumgartner was another key passer, throwing for 202 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Rye's run defense was locked in: Trinidad could only muster 0.8 yards per carry. While three picked up at least five total tackles, Bjorum stood above the rest. He rushed for 149 yards and two scores while picking up 9.3 yards per carry. Rye didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 6.8.

Rye's record now sits at 2-0. As for Trinidad, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rye will head out to challenge Monte Vista at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Trinidad, they will venture away from home to face off against Raton at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
