Pine suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Friday. They were beaten by Denham Springs 61-21. While losing is never fun, Pine can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 106th, while Denham Springs is ranked seventh).
Hammond has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-10 record this season. As for Pine, they bumped their record down to 12-10 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Hammond came up short against Pine in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, falling 59-51. Can Hammond avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
