Basketball Recap: Madison-Ridgeland Academy Takes Down Ranked St. Joseph Catholic

On Tuesday, Madison-Ridgeland Academy faced St. Joseph Catholic in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Madison-Ridgeland Academy Patriots enjoyed a cozy 64-45 victory over the St. Joseph Catholic Bruins. This was a revenge game for the Patriots: when they faced off against the Bruins on January 10th, they had to take a 44-41 loss.

Madison-Ridgeland Academy was led to victory by Will Bizot and Erick Dampier, Jr.. Bizot dropped a double-double on 32 points and ten rebounds, while Dampier, Jr. dropped a double-double on 24 points and 21 boards. Those 21 boards gave Dampier, Jr. a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Joshua Smith, who posted six points.

Madison-Ridgeland Academy has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-10 record this season. As for St. Joseph Catholic, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 22-6.
