Tinley Park is 8-1 against Blue Island Eisenhower since May of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Titans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cardinals at 4:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Tinley Park has five straight wins, Blue Island Eisenhower has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Tinley Park came out on top against Thornton Fractional South on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run seventh inning. The Titans were the clear victors by a 14-1 margin over the Red Wolves. The Titans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by six runs or more this season.

Michael Kerrigan tossed a big game, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
On the hitting side, Drew Benthine was a standout: he got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, two RBI, and one double. He has become a key player for Tinley Park: the team is 5-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 6-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Dylan Hullinger, who went 3-for-5 with four RBI and one double.
Tinley Park was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .320 or higher in six consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 13 runs the game before, Blue Island Eisenhower was a bit more limited in their game on Wednesday. They fell 6-1 to Leo.
Blue Island Eisenhower saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Favian Barcena, who went 1-for-3 with one double.
Tinley Park pushed their record up to 11-8 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.7 runs over those games. As for Blue Island Eisenhower, their loss dropped their record down to 7-10.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Tinley Park has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Blue Island Eisenhower struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Tinley Park took their victory against Blue Island Eisenhower when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 16-0 score. Do the Titans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cardinals turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
