Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Bellevue

Bellevue hadn't done well against Calvary Christian recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Tigers were the clear victors by an 11-3 margin over the Cougars. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by eight runs or more this season.

Kylee Schehr was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. Schehr was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Jayda Dowell was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Paulina Long, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

The victory was the third in a row for Bellevue, bringing their record up to 9-12. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Calvary Christian, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.

Coming up, Bellevue will head out on the road to face off against Holmes at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Calvary Christian, they will be playing at home against Dayton at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Cougars are facing the Greendevils at the right time seeing as the Greendevils are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
