The Hill County Wolves will be playing at home against the Waco Christian Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Texas (Hill County is ranked 265th, while Waco Christian is ranked 273rd).
Two weeks ago, Hill County was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 30-25 to Grace Classical Christian Academy. Hill County has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite their loss, Hill County saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Evan Knight, who rushed for 81 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Tristan Knight, who rushed for 121 yards on only 13 carries.
Meanwhile, Waco Christian put the finishing touches on their third blowout victory of the season on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 53-13 victory over Grace Christian Academy on the road. The win was just what Waco Christian needed coming off of a 50-0 loss in their prior match.
Waco Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mark Day led the charge by rushing for 180 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Kohen Mayberry, who punched in four rushing scores.
Hill County's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Waco Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 4-5 record this season.
