Despite the defeat, Immanuel Christian saw an underclassman step up: Carlos Acu?a dropped a double-double on 15 points and 14 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Hector Perez, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, Cathedral waltzed into their matchup on Friday with nine straight wins but they left with ten. They claimed a resounding 60-19 victory over Fabens on the road. Cathedral has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 21 points or more this season.
Immanuel Christian's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 25-7. As for Cathedral, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 15 games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-11 record this season.
