Softball Recap: Woodlake Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Win

Woodlake got themselves on the board against Farmersville on Thursday, but Farmersville never followed suit. They blew past the Aztecs 12-0. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 21 matches by six runs or more this season.

Audrina Rodriguez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in 17 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ella Lara, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Noemi Aldana, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

Woodlake was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Farmersville only posted a batting average of .211.

The victory (which was Woodlake's sixth in a row) raised their record to 23-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Farmersville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-5.

Woodlake didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 14-0 victory against Corcoran on the 12th. As for Farmersville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 19-1 win against Wonderful College Prep Academy on the 13th.
