While Statesboro didn't have the best season last year (they finished 12-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against the Calvary Day Cavaliers by a score of 2-0 on Tuesday. That's more bragging rights for the Blue Devils, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Statesboro not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Calvary Day between 19 and 21 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-21.

Statesboro's offense was headlined by Blakely Brown and Callie Simmons, who picked up five kills apiece. They got some help from Phoebe Hansen and her 16 assists. Simmons was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Statesboro's victory bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Calvary Day, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.

Coincidentally, Statesboro and Calvary Day will both be playing Southeast Bulloch the next time they take the court. The Cavaliers will host the Yellow Jackets at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Blue Devils will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
