Basketball Recap: Hagerman Skates Past Tatum with Ease

Hagerman won the last time they faced Tatum and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Hagerman Bobcats simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Tatum Coyotes 68-37. The Bobcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 20 points or more this season.

Despite the defeat, Tatum saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Aaron Marizcal went 6-for-13 en route to 19 points. Another player making a difference was Robert Martinez, who posted seven points and eight rebounds.

Hagerman is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points over those games. As for Tatum, they dropped their record down to 5-18 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Hagerman will square off against Texico at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Tatum, they will be playing at home against Loving at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Tatum is facing Loving at the right time seeing as Loving is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
