 Brycen James made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound,   not allowing a single  earned run and  allowed only  one  hit while striking out six over 4.1 innings pitched. Furthermore,  he didn't allow a single  walk, the first time  he has blanked an opponent since back in March of 2024. He was also big at the plate,  scoring three  runs while going 1-for-6. He has become a key player for Maiden: the team is 2-1 when he posts  at  least  two  runs, but 2-3 otherwise.
 In other batting news,  Ethan Whittaker was  excellent,  scoring a  run while going 3-for-6. That's the most  hits  he has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of  Zane Williams, who  got on base  in five of his seven plate appearances.
 Maiden  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 15  hits. That's the most  hits they've managed all season.
The  victory (which was Maiden's third in a row) raised their record to 4-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Foard,  they are  on  an  eight-game losing streak  (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.
 Maiden has already played their next contest,  an  8-3  loss against Bandys on the 14th. As for Foard, they also  wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next  matchup,  a  4-3  win against Hibriten on the 14th.
