The Hubbard Eagles lost against the Poland Seminary Bulldogs back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Hubbard ended up on the wrong side of a rough 54-34 walloping at the hands of Poland Seminary. While losing is never fun, Hubbard can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 280th, while Poland Seminary is ranked 71st).
When it comes to explaining why Hubbard lost, one person who can't be blamed is Gavin Rybicki. Despite the final result, he scored seven points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Kenyen Franklin was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Hubbard's loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-1. As for Poland Seminary, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.
Hubbard will be home for the holidays to greet McKinley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. McKinley and Hubbard are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Poland Seminary, they will head out on the road to face off against Girard at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Girard is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
