It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but The Farmersville Farmers ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They snuck past Krum with a 27-21 win. For Farmersville, this counts as revenge for the 35-0 defeat Krum walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2022.
Caden Norman went supernova for Farmersville, rushing for 121 yards and a touchdown on only six carries, while also throwing for 305 yards on 14 of 31 attempts. Another player making a difference was Arden Cox, who picked up 206 receiving yards.
Krum's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Mateo Gonzalez, who rushed for 94 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Ty Taber, who threw for 175 yards and two touchdowns.
Farmersville's victory was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 44.0 points per game. As for Krum, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Farmersville will head out on the road to face off against Sanger at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Sanger is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak. As for Krum, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Bridgeport at 7:30 p.m.
