Basketball Recap: Cherryville Starts Season with Victory at Home

Cherryville gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Wednesday. They came out on top against the NCSSM: Morganton Dragons by a score of 44-32. The Ironmen haven't had any issues with the Dragons recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Despite the loss, NCSSM: Morganton still got an impressive performance from Amalia Bordoloi, who posted 19 points. Vivian Lin was another key player, putting up nine points.

NCSSM: Morganton is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cherryville won't have much time to rest: their next game is against North Gaston at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for NCSSM: Morganton, they will also get right back to it: they'll challenge Bonnie Cone Leadership Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The contest will give the Dragons their first taste of in-conference action this season.
