Northwest put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They greeted the New Year with with a 66-52 victory over the West Pioneers. For the Grizzlies, this counts as revenge for the 43-41 win the Pioneers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

West lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Delano Hoskins, who posted 15 points. Caleb Maholmes was another key player, putting up seven points and five rebounds.

Northwest's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-0. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 82.0 points per game. As for West, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Northwest will be playing at home against Kapaun Mt. Carmel at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Northwest knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matchups -- so hopefully Kapaun Mt. Carmel likes a good challenge. As for West, they will face off against Heights at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Heights' defense has only allowed 28.8 points per game this season, so West's offense will have their work cut out for them.
