Given Providence Grove's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 160th, while Southern Guilford is ranked 383rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Providence Grove got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was ASIA STEVERSON out in front who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 10 rebounds. BROOKE INGRAM was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with 5 rebounds.
Providence Grove's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Southern Guilford, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.
Providence Grove will head out on the road to face off against Asheboro at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Southern Guilford, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Southeast Guilford at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
