Kirbyville has gone a perfect 10-0 against East Chambers recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Kirbyville Wildcats will welcome the East Chambers Buccaneers at 6:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Kirbyville made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Buna, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Kirbyville never let Buna get on the board and left with a 10-0 win on Friday. The Wildcats' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last three contests.

Calli Wiggins made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over six innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in hits.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Emilee Denz, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Tatum McMillon was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.
Kirbyville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.1 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 9.4.
Meanwhile, East Chambers gave up the first runs last Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They were the clear victor by a 14-5 margin over Hardin. The Buccaneers haven't had any issues with the Hornets recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Like Kirbyville, East Chambers also got a great game from a two-way player: Hailey Hjelle. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. Hjelle was also big at the plate, going 1-for-5 with one home run and three RBI. That home run was her first of the season.
In other batting news, East Chambers let Emily Vratis and Marley Morgan run wild. Vratis scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-5, while Morgan went 3-for-5 with three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Zoe Selby, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Kirbyville has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. East Chambers' win bumped their record up to 14-7-1.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Kirbyville hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .342. However, it's not like East Chambers struggles in that department as they've averaged .314. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Kirbyville skirted past East Chambers 9-8 in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Does Kirbyville have another victory up their sleeve, or will East Chambers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
