The Northampton Yellowjackets won the last time they faced the Arcadia Firebirds, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Northampton walked away with a 60-50 victory over Arcadia.
Northampton's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ronyell Coston, who scored 21 points along with five steals. Coston has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last eight times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Quayshawn Washington, who scored 19 points along with six steals.
Arcadia's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jordan Cropper, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds, and RonRico Bugg who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Bugg is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. Carson Lucy was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Northampton has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. As for Arcadia, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northampton will challenge Snow Hill at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Arcadia, they will head out on the road to face off against Nandua at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
