Wayne County fell 45-37 to McIntosh County Academy on Friday. While losing is never fun, Wayne County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 338th, while McIntosh County Academy is ranked 151st).
McIntosh County Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Neo West led the charge by scoring 14 points along with 5 assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Mj Quarterman, who scored 6 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 steals.
Wayne County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for McIntosh County Academy, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wayne County will take on Brantley County at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. McIntosh County Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Glynn Academy at 7:30 p.m. on December 2nd. Glynn Academy is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
