Alchesay took a 51-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Chinle. That's two games in a row now that Alchesay has lost by exactly four points.
When it comes to explaining why Alchesay lost on Thursday, one person who can't be blamed is Jazlyn Nosie. Despite the final result, she scored 20 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Nosie has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Abalena Jim, who scored 11 points along with two blocks.
It was another big night for Dizhoon White, who scored 17 points along with four steals for Chinle. Jayden Lynch was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with five steals.
Alchesay has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-9 record this season. As for Chinle, their win bumped their record up to 9-13.
Alchesay will be playing at home against Monument Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Alchesay is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 51 points per game this season. Chinle is on the road again on Tuesday and plays Tuba City at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Arizona (Tuba City is ranked 55th, while Chinle is ranked 70th).
