Softball Recap: Rensselaer Central Has No Trouble Against Glenn

Rensselaer Central came out on top against Glenn on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run fifth inning. The Bombers were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Falcons. The result was nothing new for the Bombers, who have now won eight games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Kali Northcutt and Kami Davis made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Northcutt tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Davis pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances. At bat, Northcutt went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double, while Davis got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Stacia Crabtree, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylie Spencer, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs.

Rensselaer Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Rensselaer Central has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Glenn, their loss dropped their record down to 9-12.

Rensselaer Central wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, an 11-1 victory against Kouts on the 19th. As for Glenn, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 18-3 win against LaVille on the 19th.
