It was a good run, but the Rossview Hawks unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 81-77 hit to the loss column at the hands of Varsity Opponent. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game on Friday (69), Rossview still had to take the loss.
Despite the loss, Rossview still got an impressive performance from Landon Hankemeier, who scored 25 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hankemeier has scored all season. Jacob Edwards was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Rossview's loss dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Varsity Opponent, their win ended a nine-game drought at home and bumped them up to 261-984-2.
Rossview will take on Springfield at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Springfield will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 233rd, while Rossview is ranked 50th). As for Varsity Opponent, they will head out on the road to face off against The Rock at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
