The Metropolitan Learning Center Dragons are still winless after their match against the University Hawks on Thursday, but the team can take solace in the fact it was the closest they've come to winning. Metropolitan Learning Center fell just short of University by a score of 43-40. Metropolitan Learning Center lost against University in their previous head to head on Tuesday, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 50-42 score last time.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead University to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kevin Murray Jr, who scored three points along with 11 rebounds and five blocks. Murray Jr has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jakari Laing, who scored 14 points along with three steals.
Metropolitan Learning Center's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for University, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-2.
Metropolitan Learning Center will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Bulkeley at 6:00 p.m. As for University, they will head out on the road to face off against Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
