After two games on the road, Phillips is heading back home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Lynn Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Last Tuesday, Phillips was beaten by Belgreen 55-19. While losing is never fun, Phillips can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 407th, while Belgreen is ranked 104th).
Meanwhile, Lynn's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 59-34 walloping at the hands of Winston County.
Phillips' defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-9. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 24.3 points per game. As for Lynn, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.
Everything came up roses for Phillips against Lynn when the teams last played back in December of 2017 as the squad secured a 55-10 victory. Does Phillips have another victory up their sleeve, or will Lynn turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
