The Warner Wildcats will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Horizon Prep Lions at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday. Warner is hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses.
After soaring to 72 points the game before, Warner were a bit more limited in their contest on Monday. They were the victim of a rough 40-19 defeat at the hands of Chula Vista Learning Community Charter.
Despite the defeat, Warner got a solid performance out of Ayden Pulido , who scored five points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Pulido has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Porras , who scored two points along with five steals.
Meanwhile, Horizon Prep's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They took a 36-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mountain Empire.
Warner now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Horizon Prep, they have fallen quite a ways from their 18-6 record last season and are now at 2-9.
Everything went Warner's way against Horizon Prep in their previous matchup on December 1st as Warner made off with a 54-30 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Warner since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
