In what's become a running theme this season, the Gilbert Indians gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 65-35 win over Dreher on the road. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Gilbert had established a 21 point advantage.
Gilbert was led to victory by Avery Campbell and Ahleira Leaphart. Campbell dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds, while Leaphart almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine steals. It was the first time this season that Campbell scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Anabel Godfrey, who scored five points along with two steals.
The victory made it two in a row for Gilbert and bumps their season record up to 15-9. As for Dreher, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-17.
Gilbert will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Swansea at 6:15 p.m. Hopefully Gilbert focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 on Tuesday. As for Dreher, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Lower Richland at 6:00 p.m. The timing isn't great for Dreher: they have been struggling with ten straight losses at home dating back to last season, while Lower Richland has snatched up five consecutive wins on the road.
