With a playoff game on the line, the Avoyelles Mustangs rose to the challenge on Friday. They snuck past Kinder with a 28-22 victory. The victory was familiar territory for Avoyelles who now have three in a row.
Avoyelles' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Zayden Williams led the charge by rushing for 113 yards and two touchdowns. Decareyn Sampson also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Avoyelles' win bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Kinder, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.
Avoyelles will look to defend their home field on Friday against Pine at 7:00 p.m. Kinder does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
