If Del Mar wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Pioneer, they should've done a better job of containing  Colton Bermillo. The Mustangs enjoyed a cozy  29-14 victory over the Dons on Friday for which the team can thank  Bermillo, who rushed for 113 yards and one  TD on only 11 carries. He is becoming a predictor of Pioneer's success: when he posts  at  least 80  rushing yards the team is 2-1 (and 2-3 when he doesn't).
 Pioneer's defense made their presence known, laying out  Diego Lopez three times. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess:  Edward Olvera,  Bryce Coats,  and  Matthew Wheeler, who each picked up one  sack apiece.
 Although Del Mar took the loss, they still got scores from  Kyle Mcclements and  Lopez.
Pioneer has  been performing  well recently as they've  won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-4 record  this season. As for Del Mar,  they are  on  a  five-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 2-6.
