The Purdue Broad Ripple Lynx will head out on the road to face off against the Liberty Christian Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Purdue Broad Ripple focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Tuesday.
Purdue Broad Ripple gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener. They had just enough and edged Thrival Indy Academy out 52-49.
Purdue Broad Ripple found their leader in underclassman Seth Bacon, who scored 16 points along with 5 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Murphy, who scored 11 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals.
Meanwhile, Liberty Christian didn't have too much trouble with Indianapolis Shortridge on the road on Tuesday as they won 65-47. The win was just what Liberty Christian needed coming off of a 78-42 defeat in their prior match.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Liberty Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tamarje English, who scored 21 points. Jaloni Dixon was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with 6 steals and 5 rebounds.
Purdue Broad Ripple's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Liberty Christian, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
