Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Reo Stevenson and CJ Oxendine Lead North Myrtle Beach to Victory

North Myrtle Beach saw some tournament action on Saturday. They greeted the New Year with with a 51-33 win over the Ragin Prep Christian Academy Rams. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Chiefs.

Leading North Myrtle Beach to victory were CJ Oxendine and Reo Stevenson. Oxendine went 5 of 9 en route to 13 points along with five assists and five rebounds, while Stevenson went 5 for 12 on his way to 11 points in addition to five boards and four steals. The dominant performance gave Stevenson a new career-high in rebounds. Wells Hill was another key player, putting up seven points.

Ragin Prep Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Kavontay Rose, who posted 11 points and eight boards. Rose has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayshaun Rutherford, who earned seven points.

North Myrtle Beach has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. As for Ragin Prep Christian Academy, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season.

North Myrtle Beach has already played their next game, a 54-45 loss against Conway on the 7th. As for Ragin Prep Christian Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 65-8 victory against Crown Leadership Academy on the 14th.
