Paintsville may have come out ahead in their last matchup, but they shouldn't get too cocky given who is up next. They will go up against Pikeville in continuing playoff action on Friday. Averaging 45 points per contest, the Paintsville squad has been an offensive juggernaut in the playoffs, so hopefully Pikeville's defense is prepared for a test.
Paintsville earned some more postseason success in their game last week. They had just enough and edged out Williamsburg 36-34.
Meanwhile, Pikeville simply couldn't be stopped, as they easily beat Nicholas County 54-14.
The last time the two teams met in September, the Tigers and the Panthers were neck-and-neck, but the Tigers came up empty-handed with a 9-8 loss. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat, or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll soon find out.
