There's no place like home for Academy of Richmond County, who bounced back after a  loss on the road  on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a  victory as the  squad sidled past the Lakeside Panthers  2-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won  2-1  back in August.
 The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Academy of Richmond County who won the one that mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 23-25,  15-7.
 Caitlyn Rivers paced Academy of Richmond County's offense, picking up 14 kills. Rivers got some help from  Harper Beckham and her 24 assists. Finally,  Talia Freeman kept Academy of Richmond County's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.
 Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was   Zoe Evans, who  had nine  digs and one assist.  Shelby Smith also deserves some recognition as  she  had her first  block of the season.
