The Lakota East Thunderhawks were the 48-47 winner over the Springboro Panthers when they last played one another back in November of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Lakota East was just a bucket shy of victory on Wednesday and fell 38-37 to Springboro.
Defeat or not, Lakota East got some senior leadership from Celina Blount who scored 15 points along with 5 rebounds and 4 blocks and Emma Fohl who scored 11 points along with 4 steals.
Lakota East's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Springboro, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lakota East will take on Badin at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Springboro, they will head out on the road to face off against Purcell Marian at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday.
