On Friday, The South Beloit Sobos faced the Flanagan/Woodland Falcons in a battle between two of the state's top teams. South Beloit was dealt a 52-0 loss at the hands of Flanagan/Woodland. The last quarter was a mere formality, since the game's final score was reached by the end of the third quarter.
Kesler Collins was his usual excellent self, rushing for 267 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 14.1 yards per carry. Payton Quaintance and his 80 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Flanagan/Woodland's win.
South Beloit has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-3 record this season. As for Flanagan/Woodland, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 7-3.
South Beloit does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Flanagan/Woodland will take on Amboy/LaMoille/Ohio at TBD on Friday. Amboy/LaMoille/Ohio is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
